VampireDev's News

The wait is over, VanillaBeast: Retro Knock-Out! the other big project I have been working on for a long time is finally out!

Think Leisure Suit Larry meeting Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!. Whether you're a hardcore boxing fan, a retro gamer, or a casual gamer looking for a fun (and funny) fast-paced boxing game full of 80's and 90's parody fighters, This is the game for you!

I was the lead pixel artist for this game so you will get see a lot of my animations, sprites and backgrounds here, some of them that I'll slowly post and talk more about here. The most ambitious project I've worked in so far, as you can imagine by how big the sprites are, how many boxers you get to fight in this game, and how detailed each background is too, but as someone that loves the original Punch-Out! I couldn't miss this chance!

The game is OUT NOW on Steam, and will also be available on Atari VCS soon.

So don't forget to check it!!

Gravity Circuit, one of the big projects I have been working for a while is finally OUT!!

A flashy action packed 2D platformer in the spirit of console classics. Follow Kai, a lone operative war hero who harnesses the mysterious powers of the Gravity Circuit, on an adventure in a futuristic world inhabited by sentient robots.

I did several background pixel art pieces for this game (some of which you can see in this trailer) that I'll slowly post and talk more about here. I'm extremely proud to have been part of this project and to get a chance to work together with a team full of amazing and super talented people.

The game is OUT NOW on PC (Windows/Linux/macOS), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

So don't forget to check it!!

For future updates, you can follow the game's development on Twitter or the community Discord!

After receiving lots of positive feedback on our last demo we are launching a Kickstarter to help get Retro Knock Out!, one of the big projects I'm working on, ported to consoles.

Check the Kickstarter page to learn more about the game itself, the people working on it and all the amazing rewards Vanilla Gaming Company has prepared for its backers, some of them featuring artwork I made for the project, like this one:

Many rewards are limited in quantity so stop by and grab them while they're available.

Every bit of help is greatly appreciated! And even if you're unable to pledge, share it out with anyone that could be interested!

VanillaBeast: Ace in the Hole is action-adventure game with an open world environment and a massive variety in gameplay.

Each level of the game works as a minigame, inspired by various classic titles like The Punisher, Outrun, Double Dragon, and Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! but also referencing movies, music and general pop culture from the 80's and the 90's.

Hello! I'm VampireDev! I have been a Newgrounds lurker for a pretty long time, but never thought about uploading my work here until recently.

I do all kinds of digital art, but I love doing pixel art the most, specially under tight technical limitations like the ones old games used to follow. I also do a little bit of programming and have recently started getting into 3D modeling too.

Right now I'm working on two big projects, so expect some news on those soon.

Meanwhile I'll slowly start posting my work here, mostly old stuff I have shared on other sites before, but also some new stuff I'm currently working on. Hope you like it!
